According to a 1991 marathon study, the fastest a human being can possibly run the marathon is 1:57:58. On October 12, Eliud Kipchoge ran the 26.2 mile distance at the Ineos 159 Challenge in 1:59:40 ( an all-time best).
After watching Kipchoge’s most recent marathons, it’s obvious that he could have run much faster. In this video, we’ll be exploring Kipchoge’s marathon possibilities and we’ll see if 1:57:58 is actually possible.
